Middle School Language Arts / Lead Teacher

Location/Dept. Name: St. Francis of Assisi School


St.  Francis of Assisi School, located in Northeast Baltimore, seeks a Middle School Language Arts: Lead Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.   This position will require the teacher to also teach a second subject such as religion, social studies, math or science.  This is a full time, benefit eligible position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with AOB curriculum guidelines

  • To provide a Middle School grade-appropriate instructional program

  • To be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management

  • To assess and document student progress in all subject areas

  • To implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students

  • To establish reasonable standards for student achievement

  • To work to incorporate hands on experience and projects that integrate STEM standards within the Science curriculum

  • To be an active team member that cooperates with others for planning and analysis of student achievement

  • Adhere to St. Francis of Assisi School policies and guidelines


  • State of Maryland teaching certification

  • Confidence with the use of technology

  • Enthusiasm for curriculum design, especially an inquiry-based approach

  • Practicing Catholic
