St. Francis of Assisi School, in Northeast Baltimore, seeks a principal to join our team in July 2017.  St. Francis is a small, vibrant Roman Catholic school with strong enrollment and a supportive community.   Inspired by our patron saint, we are committed to bringing to life in the city of Baltimore the values of social justice, peacemaking and care for the environment.  St. Francis School offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB-MYP). The IB program is inquiry-based, with a global orientation and a focus on research, writing, and project-based learning.  The average class size is 20.  All students use 1:1 Chromebooks or iPads beginning in third grade. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Is the spiritual and educational leader responsible for oversight and all aspects of school life and operations in accordance with the Archdiocese of Baltimore policies and protocols
  • Works consistently toward improving the quality of instruction within the school with the selection of exceptional teachers and by fostering the professional growth of the instructional staff.
  • Establishes the school as a unique destination within the Archdiocese.


  • Practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
  • MSDE Admin II certification or eligibility.
  • A minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary level in a Catholic School, and prior experience as experience as a Principal preferred.
  • Prior experience with International Baccalaureate Programs preferred.
