Location: Head Office - Perth (WA)


Due to continued growth across the business, we are currently seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to work on a range of civil projects based in WA.

This initially commence in the Osborne Park office, however, will develop into a FIFO role (based on the project allocation). 

The Planning Engineer is responsible for:

  • Development of Baseline Programme using Primavera P6 for different Projects;

  • Identification and development of project key resources requirement;

  • Implementation of robust Project Controls and accurate reporting and forecasting for different civil projects;

  • Updating and monitoring of project progress, preparation of trend forecasts and initiation of corrective actions and mitigation measures;

  • Prepare regular status reports and forecasts for project management and client review;

  • Liaise with project team to update progress, productivity and understand project critical issues;

  • Preparation of simplified programs and presentations for site staff in order to achieve productivity on daily basis with consideration of project longest and critical path activities;

  • Preparation of mitigation and acceleration schedules by adopting different construction methodologies;

  • Review and analysis of all Sub-Contractor Schedules;

  • Preparation of internal management reports for project progress analysis including executive reporting, earned value, Key Performance Indicators etc;

  • Understand and communicate the sequence of activities that are critical for the delivery of the project and the consequences of not completing other planned activities;

  • Understanding overarching functions of Project Controls, work in PRISM G2 for Project control Set-up and support to Project Controls team to implement and monitoring on the project;

  • Preparation of tender programmes for Civil projects;

  • Provide regular reporting as required by the Lead Planner and the Project Manager.

Other requirements:

  • Extensive relevant industry planning /scheduling experience on large scale civil infrastructure projects, having worked for construction contracting companies in Australia;

  • Project Management skills;

  • Experience in the use of latest versions of Primavera P6;

  • Experience in extension of time and disruption claims using standard claim methods;

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes;

  • Previous experience with Prism G2 Project Cost Control Software is desirable.
