Description

We are currently searching for a tertiary qualified Contract Administrator with pre-contracts experience to join our corporate team in Osborne Park. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Contracts Administrator will play an important role in supporting and protecting the commercial interests of BGC Contracting through effective and efficient contractual reviews, negotiations and management.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-contract stage support and work with the tendering team to review contracts for prospective clients;
  • Prepare monthly Contract Reports (CV) for review and approval;
  • Prepare tender reviews, ensuring that the Commercial and Legal Contract Review Process is followed;
  • Identify, track, analyse and present head contract scope change variations and other issues that impact on the commercial framework;
  • Setup and agree with the Client / Project Engineer the Progress Claim format to be followed for the project;
  • Review the Subcontract agreements as prepared by the Quantity Surveyor / Project Engineer for approval;
  • Assist the Depot Area Manager / Project Engineer with all contractual notices and submission thereof;
  • Understand and protect company guarantees and exposure to liquidated penalties under the contract;
  • Review and monitor Progress Claims, Invoicing and Statutory Declarations;
  • Review project changes within the original tender scope, clarifications, and company acceptable commercial framework limits;
  • Assess variation impacts on project financial performance;
  • Assess of project under/over claim amounts for the monthly Contract Variation report;
  • Identify subcontract packages and variations;
  • Provide current insurance certificates for head contract and subcontractors;
  • Jointly compile cost accruals and other data incorporated for the Contract Variation report;
  • Review financial performance (margins) on projects;
  • Act on and close out any non-conformances identified in Commercial Audit; and
  • Establishes KPI’s for direct reports aligned with the Civil Strategy and ensures these are cascaded throughout the function;

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law (preferred) or related field;
  • Previous experience in a similar Contract Administration role, with pre-contracts exposure; 
  • Understanding of contract management systems, development, compliance and cost control;
  • High level of communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability manage critical negotiations and work through ambiguous and conflicting positions;
  • Previous experience with project cost control software and enterprise resource planning software.
