Location: Head Office - Perth (WA)


We are currently searching for a Submissions Manager to join our Business Development team in the Western Australian head office. Reporting to the GM – Business Development (Construction), you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-calibre proposal responses, whilst managing a submissions and leveraging on your extensive experience and business knowledge, to ensure that BGC Contracting builds on a successful 2017 and continues to win additional projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Perth based submissions team;      
  • In collaboration with Bid Managers and Estimating Manager / Lead Estimators, lead, manage and coordinate the preparation, review and production of compliant, professionally produced proposals within client defined timeframes, for both Construction and Mining Business Units, West and East;
  • Conduct bid strategies workshops and coach Submissions team and subject matter experts (SMEs) in persuasive writing and proposal best practice;
  • Coordinate and review / edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from estimating team, project team and Project Support Service team (HSEQ, Finance, Commercial, Legal, Community & Diversity, IT, etc.);
  • Understanding the importance of client requirements and developing bid strategies and client-focussed bid responses and supporting content;
  • Assist the General Manager Business Development Construction in building and driving the Submission Team’s strategic direction;
  • Support Win Work through effective development and submission of bids;
  • Provides clear leadership and direction and promotes and fosters a team culture consistent with the organisation’s Charter and Values;.


Selection Criteria:


  • 10+ years’ experience in the construction and mining industry
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar or related role
  • Experience in development of bid strategies and proposal preparation
  • Experience in information and marketing systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills and proficient in Microsoft Office,  (Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint is essential
  • Graphic design ability using Adobe Creative Suite is desirable
  • Technical writing skill is desirable
