Description

CORE PURPOSE:

To enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty by ensuring only products that meet or exceed quality standards are marketed and sold by Gopher Sport. 

POSITION OUTCOMES / KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS / ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES: The duties and responsibilities listed below serve as a general outline.  Other duties may be assigned or required to support the success of Gopher Sport.

  1. Keep poor quality and defective returns as a percent of sales at or below annual business plan.

  • Perform inbound quality inspections on products received from our suppliers according to the established Quality Inspection checklist
  • Notify Quality Supervisor when an inspection exposes more defects than acceptable.
  • Perform inspections on other products as need, such as Drop Ship Returns and Damaged Freight, and work with the Logistics Supervisor to identify items eligible for a freight claim, providing a description and pictures of damage.
  • Investigate and recommend corrective/preventative action in regards to poor quality products using existing Corrective Action Request (CAR) process to track progress and improvements.
  • Flag potential poor quality product and/or supplier to ensure inbound inspection is made on next scheduled shipment
  • Remove defective or incorrect products from stock and perform the appropriate inventory transactions in warehouse management system (WMS)

 

2.       Ensure that all new products follow the outlined check in process

  • Perform quality inspections on new products received from suppliers according to the established Quality Inspection checklist
  • Review QA International Inspection Reports to identify any potential quality or packaging issues that were identified on the products prior to leaving the factory.
  • Schedule check in appointments with Category Managers & Product Development Team to review and approve all new products, as well as discuss any potential quality concerns.
  • Inform the Distribution Team Lead of all products that are available for slotting in the warehouse.

 

  1. Complete all Tasks from Customer Service and the Distribution Team in regards to product questions and parts requests. (Metric: On time completion of Tasks via Task Report)
  • Use the ERP system to review all tasks sent to the Quality Queue with 24 hours.
  • Investigate and answer all Product Questions sent to the Queue
  • Follow the Parts Process to send replacement parts to customers as requested.
  • Perform quality inspections and answer questions on stock products as requested by the Distribution Team

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred
  2. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and Windows Operating System
  3. Previous experience using a hand-held radio frequency (RF) gun preferred
  4. Previous forklift experience preferred

This job is performed in both an office and distribution environment.  The noise level in the office and distribution center is generally moderate.  In the distribution center, the team member would generally be exposed to automated equipment and conveyors.  Both the office and distribution center is climate controlled.
