Are you passionate about serving those who are most in need? Are you committed to working for your fellow citizens? Are you a believer in working towards creative and innovation solutions to society's most vexing problems? If so, a Residential / Shelter Counselor position may be for you.
Most DESC housing residents live with challenges that would seem overwhelming or insurmountable to the average person: mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, HIV, physical or developmental disabilities, and extreme poverty. In most cases, they are not affected by just one of these conditions, but are multiply disabled and have long histories of homelessness or frequent failures in other low-income housing settings. To increase their opportunity for success, residents in each of our housing sites have access to 24-hour a day, 7 days a week supportive services. Our Residential / Shelter Counselor staff provide and support these services.

Qualified applicants who are invited to the hiring fair have the opportunity to take a tour of a DESC Project, Learn about what makes DESC unique, and Participate in a Q&A with staff members. All attendees have the option of joining a group interview as well!
