IMP Aerostructures, a Division of IMP Group, located in Amherst, NS is a progressive, well-established manufacturer and supplier of structural components to the aerospace industry.

Reporting to the Production Director, the individual will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the special process lines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with quality Assurance, ensure that all special process are operated with the customer and NADCAP requirements
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Special Process areas including, cleaning, processing, Composites and Painting
  • Continually review the working parameters of the process lines to ensure we remain within the allowable customer and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the testing activities of the Materials Laboratory, ensuring that testing is performance as required
  • Ensure that all special process employees maintain their certifications to perform the work
  • Provide technical assistance with regards to waste management activities
  • Provide technical support in Health and Safety and environmental issues
  • Provide technical support to assist in gaining special process approval
  • The investigation and troubleshooting of problems


  • Post-secondary Chemical Engineering Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong people management, communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Experience in the aerospace industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of NADCAP requirements is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian controlled goods program (CGP), U.S. international traffic in arms regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
