2019 Senior Chef

Description

Buller Hospitality is seeking a number of qualified and experienced chefs to fill various positions throughout the resort.  These positions play a significant role in catering for Mt Buller’s many dining areas.  Successful applicants will be able to focus on the areas where their skills are best suited.  Applicants must work as part of a team with a high focus on preparing, producing and serving food to an exceptional standard.

Chefs will need to align their experiences and skills with the different offerings ranging from fine dining to bistro.  From head chefs to junior chefs, applicants should understand their abilities and the necessary criteria to meet one of the current positions before applying:

  • Head Chef
  • Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef
  • Chef de Partie

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Following procedures according to stipulated department and company policies
  • Maintaining strict hygiene and safety procedures
  • Taking responsibility for various aspects of the kitchen as directed
  • Preparing, presenting and cooking to established standards and/or recipes with a sense of urgency
  • Ensuring that all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations
  • Ensuring that work area, equipment and section is kept clean at all times, as directed and in accordance with current health and hygiene regulations
  • Monitoring daily kitchen food and product requirements and communicating them appropriately in a timely manner

We're looking for people with:

  • Appropriate qualifications and experience for the role
  • Safety conscious and aware (Food Safety qualifications desirable)
  • Current approved food handlers certification
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Food Act and the ramifications to the business for non-compliance
  • Passionate about food
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to work unsupervised and be a great team player
