Role Summary

Fiduciary Management, the primary multi-asset solution in the UK and Europe, involves the delegation of investment decision-making to an expert provider.  Fiduciary management incorporates a range of Russell Investments’ services (e.g. asset management and strategy advice) and plays to Russell Investments’ strengths in these areas

The role involves working with Russell’s fiduciary management team to support clients. The focus will predominantly be to help build strong client relationships, working alongside colleagues to deliver strategy, investment management and implementation services.  In addition, associates will be required to support the sales team in seeking new business. The Analyst will support the senior members of the team, interacting with other departments to assist in the delivery of services. Ultimately the position is expected to contribute to client retention and the evolution of the fiduciary management proposition across the EMEA region.
 

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Supporting relationship managers in all aspects of client management, including preparation of client presentations, delivery of customised reports, liaison with the investment division, etc.

  • Establishing a strong working relationship with clients and providing effective and timely response to clients’ requests.

  • Assisting relationship managers in proactively planning and executing strategies to retain and expand client relationships

  • Middle office team oversight. Helping supervise all functions outsourced to the middle office team, including client onboarding, audit queries, preparation and distribution of quarterly reports, etc.

  • Providing process improvement support for internal project work. Supporting associates in relation to enhancements in processes, systems and client experience.

  • Assisting senior members of the team in business development efforts.

  • Supporting fiduciary management client relationships.  Typically, this is for UK DB Pension Schemes which are small- to mid-sized.

  • Developing an awareness of the UK pensions market and the various aspects of fiduciary management including broad knowledge of the service and why clients use it.

  • Supporting on fiduciary management opportunities where required. This may include gathering high level information about clients or services

  • Having an awareness of the fiduciary market and how it’s evolving.This should include a knowledge of fiduciary management and how it differs from traditional offerings.
     

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • University undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification / equivalent experience

  • Other formal professional and / or technical qualifications / equivalent experience

  • Demonstrable skills in working with others, delivering within deadlines and being proactive.

  • Should be considering professional qualifications

  • Able to co-ordinate and work well within a team.

  • Good organisational skills and an ability to meet internal and external demands.

  • Strong self-motivation and imagination.

  • Naturally courteous and professional approach.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure, both within a team and independently.

  • Excellent communications skills (written and oral, including excellent telephone manner) interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Developing knowledge of the investment consulting and investment management industry in the UK.

  • Developing knowledge of the pensions industry in the UK including a broad understanding of the objectives, operations and regulatory environment (preferred)

  • Knowledge of the global capital markets and how various stakeholders interact within them (preferred)

  • Good knowledge and understanding of all major asset classes (preferred)

  • Professional approach to client interaction.

  • Demonstrable skills in working with others, delivering within deadlines and being proactive.

  • Experience working within an Asset Management organisation preferred, or an evident interest in this sector
