Tech Sales / Sales Engineer

Primary technical resource for the field sales force. Sales Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
REPORTING STRUCTURE & WORK SETTING
This position typically performs work in a corporate or field location and reports to a VP of Sales Development. This position also works collaboratively with VP’s of Sales and Sales Representatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Prepare Technical Demonstrations for Sales Demonstrations ensuring the products requested are current and encompass the needs of the prospect in our demonstration environment. This includes all products whether on the WageWorks platform or any of our subsidiaries. It also includes website and mobile demonstrations.
2. Perform the Technical Demonstration at presentations either onsite at prospects location or via online web session. The actual demonstration will be run by the Sales Engineer and supported by the Sales Representative. May also demonstrate our technical capabilities at conferences, seminars etc.
3. Create and utilize screenshots of our technology offerings for use in Sales Presentations
4. Act as the liaison between sales and implementation by working with the Implementation Manager on sold business to ensure an accurate transition and provide details on agreed upon technical capabilities and needs for each client.
5. Attend implementation calls as necessary to ensure smooth transition from sales to implementation.
6. Respond to functional and technical elements of RFP’s
7. Convey customer requirements to Product Management and IT teams
8. Travel throughout defined sales territories

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
A B.S. in Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE OR RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales and knowledge of technology. 3-5 + years of relevant experience in vendor sales. Experience and familiarity of our products and business is a plus. Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Consumer Driven Spending Accounts, COBRA and Commuter products is a strong plus.
A strong customer service orientation is essential.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing demands of business is a must.
Proficiency with business and communications software (preferably Word, Excel, PowerPoint, common Windows operating systems, and Outlook) is required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS
Indicate applicable: Heavy travel (50-75%) overnight travel and travel spanning 1 to 3 days to customer, client and company facilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS
Work requires normal range of hearing and eyesight. Incumbent must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment and operate a keyboard and other office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with frequent interruptions is required. At times, incumbents are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, incumbent must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Incumbent may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
Incumbent should be able to perform work at a computer terminal and travel on public or in personal transportation vehicles for extended periods in a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions. Incumbent is subject to infrequent/moderate/high levels of stress, as this position is accountable for sales demonstrations in which deadlines are critical.
