IT AUDIT SOLUTION ENGINEER

With general direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment and discretion, this position is primarily responsible for streamlining solutions to the IT Infrastructure audit request processes, relating to SOX, SOC 1, SOC 2, and PCI controls.  This includes collaborating with process owners to update control matrices and related audit documentation, initiating audit compliance efforts, automating system controls, configurations, and other IT solutions. 

This position requires experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and technical knowledge of server infrastructure, including windows operating system, active directory, networking, and virtual environments.

REPORTING STRUCTURE & WORK SETTING

This specialized position typically performs work in a corporate or field location and reports to the IT Manager.  This position also works collaboratively with the server infrastructure team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.            Present creative and logical solutions to identified problems.

2.            Work as a liaison between auditors and IT infrastructure teams; communicate technical findings and status to internal and external audit teams

3.            Create, gather, and maintain documents relating to audits, fulfilling audit requests, and documentation of technical processes.

4.            Coordinate with IT leadership to evaluate and implement IT general solutions and automate system controls.

5.            Collaborate with process owners to update narratives, flowcharts, control matrices and related SOX documentations.

6.            Fulfill IT server infrastructure audit requests for internal audit, compliance, and security.

7.            Provide entry-level support for IT infrastructure including troubleshooting of Windows Server and Active Directory systems.

 

MARGINAL DUTIES & ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

 

1.            Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

2.            Create procedural documentation, and maintain audit request proof library.

3.            Support IT infrastructure day-to-day functions and tasks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

No formal supervisory responsibility entailed, although this position may serve as a resource for other employees.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

EDUCATION:

Experience and knowledge of IT audit support or a closely related field as normally obtained through IT related certifications, or the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE OR RELATED EXPERIENCE:

The ability and skill to manage, maintain, and fulfill IT infrastructure audits as described as normally obtained through a minimum 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure support with specific experience in audit fulfillment and related functions.

Experience must also include technical knowledge and support of Windows Infrastructure, Active Directory, Linux, and Virtual environments. 

Microsoft SQL Studio, Veeam, VSphere, and Powershell experience preferred.

Familiarity with enterprise level backup systems is preferred.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Demonstrated experience auditing general computer controls and IT control testing of applications, systems, and databases

A strong background in auditing techniques and computer control environments is essential.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing demands of business is a must.

EQUIPMENT:

Proficiency with business and communications software (preferably Word, Excel, PowerPoint, common Windows operating systems, and Outlook) is required. A strong, hands-on knowledge of server infrastructure is also required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS

Infrequent travel may be required to attend occasional training or meetings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS & DEMANDS

Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS

Work requires normal range of hearing and eyesight. Incumbent must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment and operate a keyboard and other office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with frequent interruptions is required. At times, incumbents are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, incumbent must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Incumbent may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.

Incumbent should be able to perform work at a computer terminal and travel on public or in personal transportation vehicles for extended periods in a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions. Incumbent is subject to moderate levels of stress, as this position is accountable for audit requests in which deadlines are critical.
