POSITION TITLE

Senior Manager,  Program for the Development of Leaders

OVERVIEW AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

WageWorks is seeking mid-career high potentials to enter into a leadership development program to create a pipeline of future executive talent for the organization. This position is for the Program for the Development of Leaders (PDL) Rotation Development Program. In this program, participants will complete 3 six-month developmental rotations through our Customer Experience, Relationship Management and Service & Operations business groups. This is our “Operations Track” of the program, which has additional tracks in other functions. Upon completion of the program and assuming performance expectations are met, participants will be placed into roles within one of the three groups. The program will encompass a variety of rotational track, project based and development-orientated work.

OTHER REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  1. With general direction and aligned with targets set forth by track leader, this position in engaged on projects that support the direction and initiatives of the sub function assigned during each rotation.
  2. Works collaboratively with other WageWorks departments where appropriate to support business partnership. This may include working across internal organizations to resolve issues and improve internal processes that affect customer or client satisfaction.
  3. Actively involved in various learning and development opportunities provided internally. Proactively learning about WageWorks and the various functions and sub functions to gain a well-rounded understanding of the business. Identifying and developing key relationships throughout the organization.
  4. Proactively involved in rotation project work based on cross-functional problems. Collaborate with project group to analyze and create a recommendation/proposal. At completion of the project, present recommendations.
  5. Maintains an awareness with the employee benefits industry and the related regulatory environment to effectively manage consultation and benefits administration activities. This may require participation with and maintenance of memberships with professional work groups; attending trainings, seminars, and other business-related conferences; and interfacing with peers.

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in Operations with specific focus in customer service, service & ops, or relationship management. We would prefer experience in a relevant professional environment if possible, which would include financial services, technology, healthcare or heavy call center operations. People leadership experience is highly desired.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are necessary. The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and at all organizational levels is required. A professional demeanor is essential.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills are necessary. Should be comfortable presenting to all levels of leaders and employees in a polished and professional manner.

 

Experience with People Management & Leadership. This would include Performance Management, Career Development and Engagement related activities. Management skills during times of rapid change and organizational challenges is important.

Strong Project Management Ability. Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills are required. The ability to effectively handle multiple projects using independent judgment and discretion is essential. Excellent problem-solving and coordination skills are necessary to work across internal organizations and drive quick resolution of issues.

Good analytical skills and the ability to make effective judgments on available information are required. The ability to assess and resolve complex issues related to data analytics, metrics and associated recommendations.

Solid financial acumen and the ability to monitor/manage financial budgets.

EDUCATION

Knowledge of operations management or a closely related field as normally obtained through the completion of college or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred.
