Attendant - Beach (4 Positions): This position is work providing maintenance duties for all public areas including beaches, athletic areas, parks, natural areas, neighborhood parks and other county facilities. This includes working on maintenance projects and various record keeping duties.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years.
Cleans beaches, picnic areas, parking lots, playgrounds, open areas in County parks, restroom facilities and buildings.
Cleans, plants, fertilizes, irrigates, mows and maintains grounds and play areas for beaches, natural areas, neighborhood parks, athletic fields, tennis, baseball, lawn bowling. Softball, football, soccer, croquet and other sports. Cut, trim, water and fertilize general turf, trees and bushes.
Removes refuse and paper from grounds and buildings.
Works on maintenance projects, sets up and dismantles tables, chairs and decorations associated with special functions and room/facility utilization.
Operates heavy equipment, light automotive equipment, UTV's, light landscape equipment and hand tools.
Keeps operating records, completes material requests, service requests and work orders. Keeps schedule of maintenance for assigned area(s). Performs daily safety checks and repairs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or its equivalent; prefer some experience with small tools and light weight maintenance equipment. Requires a valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.
- Experience working outdoors and possible maintenance experience, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, litter and debris and minor repairs.
- Experience in working with the public and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Experience working with beach native species, plants, and animals dune systems, etc.
Physical Demands: Must regularly and frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Work Hours: For Position #2136 - Work schedule may vary. Primarily Wednesday - Sunday (Off Monday & Tuesday) - 1:00 pm. - 9:30 pm. (which are subject to change during daylight savings)
For Position #2133 - Work schedule may vary. Primarily Friday - Tuesday (Off Wednesday & Thursday) - 1:00 pm. - 9:30 pm. (which are subject to change during daylight savings)
