Special Operations Forces (SOF) Technical Writer/Training Developer/Instructor

 

1Prospect is seeking qualified candidates to provide Special Operations Forces (SOF) Medical Instruction and Instructional Writing Support Services.

Minimum Requirements and Responsibilities:

·        Use teaching methods for large group classroom instruction, small group instruction, and hands-on training in coordination with Subject Matter Expert (SME)

·        Coordinate classes and prepare lesson plans to include developing and implementing practical exercises and learning activities

·        Assemble and maintain materials to include lesson plans, visitor’s folder, etc.

·        Manage and monitor the institutional programs

·        Analyze, design, create, implement, and evaluate lesson products to include lesson plans, lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, supplemental handouts, videos, homework assignments, grade sheets, and exam questions

·        Produce curriculum that is accurate, relevant, and synchronized with force requirements that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills

·        Incorporate deliberate strategies to ensure required graduate skill levels, knowledge, and abilities transfer from the institutional environment to the operational environment

·        Update and rewrite lesson products as required by changes in doctrine and curriculum development

·        Support daily operations to include all instruction and hands on application thru practical exercise with various tools for medical instruction

·        Maintain, update, proofread and recommend changes to program lessons plans to include class content

·        Advise on development and implementation of course material

·        Provide expertise for planning and executing future classes and exercises and provide recommendations for final approval

·        Provide input on doctrine development and changes, and curriculum updates

·        Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services on equipment and systems

·        Identify and report any training/system deficiencies that may have impact on the ability to accomplish training objectives

·        Design/create electronic aids is support of training objectives

·        Create tables/maintain data and query system

·        Develop educational and command slide presentations

·        Perform database/statistics compilation and analysis

·        Manage educational program administrative requirements

·        Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Prior Military Experience

·        Three (3) years of emergency medical instruction

·        One (1) year of experience as a United States Navy Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC); or United States Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant (SOFMS) or a Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM); or as an instructor in a USSOCOM medical pipeline course

·        Knowledge and ability to provide training in the areas of anatomy, physiology, basic physical exams, medical patient assessment, medical documentation, combat casualty care, pre-hospital trauma emergencies and care, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).

·        United States Army Small Group Instructor Training Course (provided by Government), or Instructor Training Couse (ITC)

·        Ability to work effectively in an austere field training environment for up to 12 hours conducting up to five (5) cross country movements per day, 400 meters each

·        Certifications/Courses:

o   American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP) PEPP Instructor

o   American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor

o   American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Instructor (must be obtained within 6 weeks of hire)

o   National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic (NRP) (Active) Certification; or United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Advanced Tactical Paramedic (ATP) (Active) Certification

o   United States Army Small Group Instructor Training Course (provided by Government), or Instructor Training Course (ITC)

o   Curriculum Development Course (CDC-provided by Government)

o   IAT Level I (A+, Network+)

  • Computer skills
  • Expertise with Microsoft Windows OS XP Pro, Word, Power Point, and Excel without further training
  • Ability to operate common office equipment and perform administrative office duties
  • May require some travel and after-hours support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time instructing
  • Ability to utilize fine motor skills
  • Secret Level Security Clearance

 

Additional Qualifications:

-         Candidates teaching the NREMT Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic (P) courses, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation must be a United States Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant (SOFMS) (MOS18D) or United States Navy Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman (SOIDC) graduate

-         Candidates selected as the Contract Manager (CM) or Assistant Contract Manager (ACM) must possess the following:

o   Bachelor’s degree (10 years United States Army Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience may substitute for academic degree)

o   Experience working with senior military officers and at a minimum, experience commensurate to that of a senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the pay grade of E8

o   Four (4) years of experience of senior supervision, management and operation of Mission Command Training Center/Complex, with emphasis on SOF

o   Project Management Professional Certification. Experience may substitute for certification

o   Additional Desired Qualifications/Experience:

§  At least eight (8) years’ experience at Special Forces Group (SFG) or higher United States Army or Joint Special Operations organizations

§  Experience with Special Warfare Center & School (SWCS) Training Management System.

-         Candidate selected as the Senior Instructor Manager (SIM) must have the following:

o   Bachelor’s degree. Four (4) years United States Army Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience may substitute for academic degree

o   Two (2) years of experience of supervision, management and operation of Mission Command Training Center/Complex, with emphasis on SOF unique exercises.

o   Experience working with military personnel, to include senior military officers; general manager experience and prior contract experience

o   Additional desired Qualifications/Experience:

§  Eight (8 Years) at Special Forces battalion or higher United States Army or Joint Special Operations organizations

§  Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience may substitute for certification

§  Experience with Special Warfare Center & School (SWCS) Training Management System
