We are seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Technician for our First Quality Retail Services division located in King of Prussia, PA.

 

This individual will take personal responsibility to prevent accidents and injuries by observing established working rules, follow the directions of supervisors, practice the principles taught in safety training and provide ideas to further strengthen our program. Responsible for working in a safe manner to oversee daily operations of maintenance and housekeeping in regards to the building and grounds.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Adhere to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements and attain safety goals.

  • Must be willing and able to work at high elevations.

  • General construction knowledge and methods including, but not limited to, rough framing, installation of drywall and drywall finishing, installing and adjusting doors and door frames, windows, cabinets, stairs.

  • Must be able to perform various installations including: drop ceilings, wall fixtures, projection equipment, vinyl flooring together with cove molding and carpet tiles, door hardware repair including locksets, hinges and closures, and repair of safety railing, guard railing and safety barriers.

  • Possesses knowledge of and able to perform masonry work including cement block, concrete mixing, patching and pouring.

  • Able to perform plumbing installations including installing and repairing faucets, commodes, drains.

  • Knowledge of or able to perform surface preparation, caulking and painting.

  • Able to perform minor roof repairs including patching and preventative maintenance.

  • Basic electrical circuit knowledge (from safety perspective).

  • Assist, perform and/or monitor janitorial services as assigned.

  • Regular maintenance of building grounds, including landscaping, litter pick-up, snow blowing, snow shoveling, leaf collection/pick up etc.

  • Perform daily/weekly inspections and complete checklists as required; i.e. restrooms, roof, grounds, etc.

     

Additional skills required:

  • Must be able and willing to travel including overnight travel as required.

  • Must be able and willing to work any shift as required.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime as required.

  • Must be able to work overtime, holidays and weekends as necessary, as well as any shift, and be prepared and able to do so with minimal notice.

  • Must be able and willing to continuously upgrade job-related knowledge as required.

  • Willing and able to be on-call 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Able to complete other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

     

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Vo-Tech training in building trades.

  • 5 years’ experience in a facilities maintenance role.

  • Must be able to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.

  • Able to read blueprints and hand sketches; personally own the basic hand tools (carpentry & mechanical) required.

  • Must be proficient with the use of air and power tools.

  • Must be trained to operate a high reach and fork lift.

  • Willing to learn to use the computer system for work orders and preparation of purchase orders using SAP.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write the English language.

  • Good oral and written communication skills, computer skills, reasoning and mathematical skills.

  • Must be able to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.
