With leading edge manufacturing technologies and processes and visionary leadership, First Quality is positioned to continue significant growth in the coming years.  We are seeking an Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) for our First Quality Apprenticeship Program. This position will be located in King of Prussia, PA.

 

The primary role of the IMT is to understand and demonstrate all job responsibilities of operating State-of-the-Art production-related equipment, working with manufacturing tools, and performing work processes related to a wide variety of manufacturing settings. The IMT needs to possess the abilities to:  verify and order raw materials, load materials onto converting machine, and manage recyclable materials. Also, the ability to operate a   machine in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner.  Work with the production crew in the operation of the machine to meet established plant goals and objectives to include but not limited to: Safety/Housekeeping, Quality, Efficiency/Up Time, Waste/Scrap, and Inventory.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Takes personal responsibility for ensuring a safe work place is established and maintained by following all EHS policies and procedures.

  • Wears all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, protective eyewear, and safety shoes.

  • Follows all General Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

  • Establishes and maintains good housekeeping standards in all work areas.

  • Performs routine inspections ensuring quality standards are met.

  • Maintains and updates electronic production records and other related records.

  • Assists team members as needed.

  • Attends all required training.

  • Maintains daily materials management on their assigned machine.

  • Relieves crew members as needed.

  • Controls the operation of the machine including adjustments and minor repairs necessary to produce a quality product, which meets company process and product specifications.

  • Manually load and set-up splices for the materials.

  • Communicates with the appropriate team members on any machine problems, material changes or quality conditions.

 

Additional skills required:

 

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts.

  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision, with self-directed work skills.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as necessary and must be able to work any shift, and stay on job until properly relieved.

 

Apprentice Requirements:

  • Hands on training with Network Trainer (AO Trainer and Line Lead) on the production lines

  • Completion of College Courses at Delaware Community College

  • Training Requirements

    • Computer Training (LMS)

    • Classroom Training (DDI)

    • Hands On Training in Training Lab

    • Daily communication with Training Department and Network Trainer

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

 

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Technical training or one to two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Must be able to pass all job-related skill assessments

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, computer skills, reasoning and basic mathematical skills.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write the English language.
