We are seeking an experienced Operations Maintenance Coordinator-Paper for our First Quality Tissue, SE location in Anderson, SC.  The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) will provide leadership and support to Business Unit Leader, front line leaders and operating teams to ensure continuity of operations especially in regards to maintenance execution. The OMC is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities with operations.


Primary responsibilities include:


  • Promote an action oriented safety culture embracing safety as a core value, instilling and exemplifying a safety mindset for all team members resulting in an incident free workplace.

  • Work in conjunction with Quality department to ensure finished product satisfies all finished product quality standards.

  • Assist the Operation team in resolving quality issues whether it be equipment or process, providing technical support and auditing work.

  • Liaison between Operations and Maintenance departments.

  • Assist in training the Operation/Maintenance teams on operation of equipment, be a resource for training or instruction and provide feedback regarding quality of work and housekeeping.

  • Be the SME daily, during outages and projects assisting with repairs/knowledge to ensure repairs are done correctly and in alignment with the needs of the Operations department. Assisting/arranging LOTO for repairs that can be done OTR.

  • Work closely with team members and assist Leads, Engineer and BUL to troubleshoot production/equipment issues.

  • Mentor Maintenance Lead through the operation process, training on the equipment operation and the importance of proper equipment set-up.

  • Assist Project Engineering on projects for the business unit.

  • Owner of RWS strategy (spare parts, PMs, operating strategy/limits, MOC, software change request, etc.) following the RWS meeting and coordination protocol and ensuring RWS training is provided to all team members.

  • Owner of the WO system managing all WOs to expected completion. Attend planning and scheduling meetings to ensure WOs get on the weekly schedule and escalate barriers to planning and scheduling timeliness. Owner of the weekly and if-down-do WO priority list.

  • Owner of conditioning day schedule and scope.

  • Manage projects and repairs making sure we get the best value for our money and make major repair decisions with the right people involved.                             

  • Investigate and improve storeroom cost, when applicable, saving money on spares by partnering with the Planner and looking at other venders.                                                                   

  • Own/forecast Repair and Maintenance Budget, tracking and managing within requirements.

  • Ensure “tour ready” housekeeping at all times.

  • Promote an atmosphere of continuous improvement among all team members.

  • Responsible to meet all defined yearly objectives.


The ideal candidate should possess the following:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred in a high speed manufacturing environment or Associate’s degree or minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing Maintenance environment.

  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of technology and mechanics.

  • Knowledge of product specifications, quality specifications, goals, efficiency, scrap and production.

  • SAP knowledge preferred.

  • Personal Computer skills including specific controls programming software and basic e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet applications, and project management software.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Leadership abilities.

  • Works well with others, including technicians and management.
