We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician II for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Lock Haven, PA.  This position is primarily responsible for performing finished product lab testing, visual inspections and assisting with plant trials when necessary. The QC Tech II is a 12-hour, night shift position.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Performs and understands quality testing requirements for Converting.

  • Maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.

  • Follows existing procedures applying to the Quality System.

  • Performs testing on Production samples at specified sampling frequencies in converting.

  • Enters required test results into the Quality Data System.

  • Reports test results to appropriate parties in a timely manner, and assists in correcting undesired quality situations.

  • Performs special testing for support of product development, validation, and product investigations (nonconforming goods, complaints, recalls, and returned goods).

  • Assists in preparing and providing material, chemicals, equipment, and documents needed for performing quality functions.

  • Completes assigned reports and recommends appropriate actions based on findings.

  • Fills in for production personnel as required for business.

  • Assists in internal audits as issued by the Quality Manager.

  • Verifies data within the Quality Data System database.

  • Verifies lab equipment is working within acceptable tolerances in converting.

  • Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.

  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.

  • Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

 

  • Standard knowledge of computers and basic office software.

  • Familiarity with a formal Quality System (ISO 9000, GMP/ QSR, etc.) preferred.

  • Math skills including algebra required; statistics knowledge a plus.

  • Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Post-secondary education or experience in quality or laboratory testing preferred.

  • Must be willing to work night shift.

  • Must be willing to work some overtime when necessary.

  • Must be able to work 12.5 hour shifts.
