JOB SUMMARY:

Gain knowledge, perspective, and provide hands-on support to multiple departments through a 2-year rotation within the Procurement, Merchandising, New Product Development, and Marketing departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities listed below serve as a general outline.  Other duties may be assigned or required to support the success of Gopher Sport.

Execute and complete all assigned tasks and projects within each department rotation (Metric:applicable department metrics)

  1. Ensure all tasks and projects are completed on time
  2. As necessary, develop and document appropriate work instructions and outcomes of projects and ensure they are transitioned to department leaders upon completion of each rotation.

Rotation 1: Procurement

  1. Manage supplier orders and future forecast requirements to attain established line fill rate on all assigned products 
  2. Effectively address action messages on inbound supplier purchase orders to minimize hidden costs associated with backorders, excess inventory, inbound freight costs, etc.  
  3. Work with suppliers to retrieve purchase order acknowledgements to ensure timely processing of drop ship customer orders.  

Rotation 2: Product Marketing

  1. Assist with the introduction of new products 
  2. Assist in merchandising and managing existing products 
  3. Lead and execute merchandising projects as assigned achieving desired outcomes within assigned timeframes 
  4. Assist in maximizing the sales effectiveness of product placement, product descriptions, product presentations, cross sell opportunities and other value added information in the catalog and online. 

Rotation 3: New Product Development

  1. Develop and launch Gopher branded products for the assigned categories 
  2. Ensure all product and project deadlines are met or exceeded as defined by the Product Development process 
  3. Consistently and proactively improve Only From Gopher and Gopher branded products through Product Lifecycle Management 
  4. Assist in resourcing existing Only From Gopher and Gopher branded products as identified to new supplier 

Rotation 4: Marketing

  1. As directed by the manager, research, compile information, analyze and present findings on potential marketing campaigns or projects that are relevant to the business and have the opportunity to add additional revenue.  Assist in creating the objectives of the campaign and perform all follow ups and tasks associated with each marketing initiative on time and within budget. 
  2. Assist in the coordination and execution of content related activities (such as webinars, blogs, social posts) by securing presenters, understanding best practices, scheduling the events and successfully completing all other tasks. 
  3. Create and distribute customer surveys.  Collect, summarize, and interpret the results.  Translate those interpretations into actionable outcomes.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field from an accredited university/college.
  2. Sales, marketing, distribution, supply chain and/or call center industry experience preferred.

  4. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and Windows Operating System

This job is performed in both an office environment and a distribution environment.  The noise level in the office and distribution center is generally moderate.  In the distribution center, the employee would generally be exposed to automated equipment with conveyors.  Both the office and distribution center is climate controlled.
