40 hours, full-time, June 2019 through December 2019.
Student with Sophomore or higher standing in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering will be considered. An emphasis is Construction Project Management highly desired.
The Coop Intern would be tasked with compiling data for pressure regulators and pressure reliefs that MGE utilizes in our Natural Gas system. The data collection would lead to the development of charts, graphs, and typical drawings for use by all field designers and pressure control technicians in verifying that the optimum device and size/length of gas service is selected and sent for verification by Gas Engineering. The student would interact, under the guidance of the Manager – Gas Construction Engineering, with Gas Managers, Engineers, Technicians, Drafters, Operations Supervisors, Field Technicians, and Welders.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Products); ability to grasp new programs quickly.
Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Gather data for all pressure regulating and relief devices that MGE utilizes from various sources (Internet, product manuals, distributors, etc…).
Compile data using Excel into tables, charts, and graphs.
Develop quick reference documentation for use by Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Pressure Control Field staff.
Work with Gas Standards and Drafting departments to produce typical drawings with dimensions and labeled parts list for variations of metersets and regulator stations.
