Summary:  The Senior Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Developer – Tibco will be responsible for the design and development of our Tibco EDI solution, which supports critical business operations between external suppliers and customers, in such a way as to meet and exceed the company’s objectives by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

  • Develops/modifies code that includes maintenance and bug fixes
  • Analyzes requirements, functional design, and architectural design documents to determine coding needed from generalized business and functional requirements
  • Collects feedback from business and technical teams to ensure design will meet business needs and adhere to IT standards
  • Develops technical design document, including, flowcharts, diagrams, and/or write pseudo code to illustrate sequence of steps and describe logical operations
  • Creates design and analysis documentation such as Master Technical Designs, Database Designs, User Interface Designs, Functional Designs and Technical Detail Designs.
  • Provides alternate technical solutions to solve problems
  • Develops unit test plans and conduct unit test according to plans
  • Participates and takes lead role in project team meetings and test plan walk throughs
  • Provides estimates for completion of Developer Technical Design Documents
  • Manages work and assists team members to meet specified due dates for tasks and projects to ensure they are on time and within budget
  • Designs, creates, and maintains unit test plans and runs tests to find errors and confirm program meets specifications.
  • Tracks defects from code reviews and testing
  • Proactive in providing status updates on tasks and projects to team members
  • Experienced with SDLC methodologies including Waterfall, Scrum, Iterative, Agile

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred in Management Information Sciences, Computer Science, or similar studies; Master’s degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in modeling business logic and automating business processes using TIBCO Business Works and EMS messaging
  • 3+ years’ experience in creating Concepts, Simple Events, Complex Events, DB concept, writing the rules and configuring the backing store in TIBCO Business Events
  • 7+ years’ experience defining and managing system requirements through the system development life cycle
  • 5+ years’ experience in EDI, XML, Flat file transactions and communication, or related related IT experience
  • Working knowledge of system and process monitoring using TIBCO Hawk and TIBCO Administrator
  • Experience in designing the Business State Model, Decision Table using TIBCO Business Events
  • Experience with relational databases including DB2, SQL Server and Oracle.  Working experience in JAVA, XML, and web services (using SOAP and Restful models)
