Description

Functions and duties:

  • Support project team
  • Prepare and conduct safety meetings and trainings
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Complete various reports for the employer and clients
  • Respond to incident related call-outs and assist with Incident Investigation management and data collection of post incident
  • Daily inspections of the construction site to ensure the workers are in compliance with safety rules.
  • Conduct field verifications and implementation of policies and company commitments; ensure corrective actions identified in incident investigations have been implemented on each relevant site
  • Ensure safety manual and safety laws are respected.
  • Assist foremen and other supervisors with health and safety improvements and matters.
  • Make sure that the “Daily safety task meeting” is properly conducted.
  • Make sure the clients receive all the required documents (inspection, accident, near miss, tool-box meeting, job safety analysis, etc.)
  • Assist the safety department with document development Programs, Audits, Emergency Response Plans
  • Manage documentation related to Health and Safety and update the data sheet books.
  • Make sure workers receive proper trainings for the job they need to execute.
  • Other related duties that may be assigned  

Requirements:

  • 3 + years experience as a Safety Representative in the Industrial Construction and/or maintenance field, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector
  • Good working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to produce quality work with little guidance
  • Ability to speak to groups and educate/coach workers and supervisors regarding Health and Safety related matters.

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary contract
  • 7 days on, 7 days off, 11.5 hours per day
