REPORTING TO: 

 

Chef de Cuisine / Banquet Chef

We are searching for a dedicated, organized and hard-working individual to provide ongoing support to our Culinary and Stewarding crews. Our ideal Lead Steward will be physically able to keep up a fast paced environment to achieve sanitation and cleanliness standards while maintaining an organized dish area. This is an integral role of our heart of the house team.  This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized dish and pot area ensuring high level of sanitation
  • Keep all china, glass, cutlery, pots, pans etc. clean and ready for use
  • Train, motivate and supervise steward team
  • Provide assistance to other Stewarding and Culinary team members as required
  • Maintain the dishwashing machine and area in a clean, hygienic and organized manner
  • Organize and maintain stock in the glass and china room
  • Inventory of small wares
  • Sweep and mop the floors within the service areas and within the kitchen
  • Dispose of waste according to hotel recycling procedures
  • Perform other work as assigned by management.

 

 

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have previous Stewarding experience with positive track record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Able to work independently and well with others to get the job done
  • Must be able to bend, extend arm reach over-head and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs
  • Must be able to push, pull and maneuver a fully stocked queen Mary cart.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as business dictates.
  • Must be available to work days/evenings/weekends and holidays
