Position Overview:

The Calibration Services Supervisor has responsibility for the technical operation of the calibration laboratory and supports all calibration activities including business development. This dynamic individual will apply knowledge of national and international standards documents and processes to effectively manage an efficient ISO 17025:2005 accredited laboratory.

This is an opportunity to join a small but highly capable management team responsible for the operation of a successful business unit which is part of a large, highly diversified industrial corporation based in Atlantic Canada

Key Areas of Responsibility:

The Calibration Services Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Validating calibration methodologies & selecting IM&TE (inspection, measurement and test equipment)
  • Interpreting measurement data & performing root cause analysis of technical discrepancies
  • Analyzing requirements for measurement standards
  • Preparing and testing new calibration procedures
  • Documenting laboratory best practices and training calibration personnel
  • Analyzing, evaluating and documenting measurement uncertainty and laboratory calibration capacity
  • Developing and implementing data and record requirements for calibration
  • All aspects of Customer Relationship Management (internal & external clients)

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a management/supervisory position in an accredited calibration laboratory
  • Computer Literacy : Microsoft Office, Calibration Management Software (MET/CAL, MET/TEAM)
  • Excellent leadership abilities along with a strong team orientation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven decision-making and problem solving skills in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience selling in the commercial/industrial market
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel and work within a flexible schedule as required
  • Strong relationship-builder
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.  Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 6S activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
