We have permanent, full-time opportunities for Airfield Operations & Emergency Response Specialists in the Airside Operations Department. Reporting to the Manager, Emergency Services, the successful candidates will work alongside a dedicated team of individuals to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public at YVR. These multiskilled individuals will provide aircraft firefighting services, first response for airside emergencies, emergency medical first response both airside and within the terminals, airside inspections and other activities that contribute to the overall safety and security of the airport. Additionally, they provide emergency Snow and Ice Control (SNIC).

Shift work is required as the Airside Operations Department operates on a 24-hour basis.
After hire, as an ongoing condition of employment, Airfield Operations & Emergency Response Specialists will be required to reside in an area that allows them a reasonable response time to the airport. Specifically, employees will be required to reside within any of the following areas: Lions Bay, District of West Vancouver, District of North Vancouver, City of North Vancouver, Anmore, Port Moody, Belcarra, University Endowment Lands, Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, Delta, Surrey, White Rock, Langley City, Township of Langley, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam or Coquitlam. Any location which requires ferry services to get to work is not within the residency requirements.
