The Assistant Merchandiser will report to the Head Merchandiser, while interacting heavily with Retail Operations and Buyers on all aspects of product merchandising and displays, sales numbers as it pertains to sell-through on the floor, and inventory management of brand products including SBH. This position will play an integral role in floor-sets, windows, merchandising, seasonal sales and inventory management for all stores.
Essential Job Functions
Collaborate with store team and key partners to lead timely and effective execution merchandising (seasonal and mid-season) and visuals while assuming responsibility in the store’s performance and sales
Challenge and inspire the store team to evaluate every aspect of the brick and mortar experience; translate good ideas into actionable concepts that can be shared, communicated and taught
Effectively delegate and teach store teams while allowing managers to creatively succeed by making strategic business decisions based on inventory and sell-through
Analyze sales and performance by product and store locations; identify hot spots/product and slow-moving inventory; work with Buyers, Retail Operations and Director of Merchandising for solutions
Work with store managers to ensure all POP is in place, up to date and maintained
Train and provide store teams with visual merchandising standards, best practices and floor sets
Create, direct or facilitate transfers to move product from warehouse to stores, and from store to store based on sales and inventory levels
Assist Warehouse personnel with receiving, tagging and distribution of product as needed 
Create and maintain product catalogs for SBH and other brand merchandise; assist Buyers in maintaining minimum quantities of SBH products
Work with vendors to create special promotions for specific products or brands
Communicate, set up seasonal sales for stores needing assistance
Assist in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the inventory management system including the annual physical inventory

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of visual merchandising experience in a retail or related field 
Prior visual display, fashion merchandising or design experience a plus
Must have strong computer skills including Office Suite
RTP and/or CounterPoint experience is beneficial
