The Senior Manager of Sustainability and Philanthropy helps to manage and run the philanthropic foundations, programs and strategy within the organization.  The position also supports the company sustainability efforts through outreach, advocacy, communication, education and behavior change initiatives. The position develops effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, driving and achieving philanthropic and sustainability targets.
 
Essential Job Functions
Administers and manages the various philanthropic foundations within the organization
Coordinates, administers and tracks the company volunteer program
Support and develop company-wide philanthropic strategies.
Manages the fund allocations for the various foundations; responding to donation requests and allocating funds based on the company philanthropic guidelines
Serves on the board of the Company Family Fund
Ensure efficient and effective philanthropic efforts and streamlined administrative processes and procedures
Support and enhance company sustainability platform, including:
   o The company’s tolerance and inclusion work, including cross-functional efforts to develop new and effective initiatives within the company
   o The company’s social justice work, including immigration, education and poverty
   o Serve as an advocate and resource to progress and develop education and immigration initiatives primarily at the state and regional level in collaboration with the Director of Community Engagement
   o The company’s climate advocacy work
Be an active and visible resource on sustainability issues and initiatives to enhance company-wide understanding and buy-in on sustainability efforts
Strengthen communication efforts both internally and externally around sustainability through public presentations, community outreach, an environmental newsletter, and employee education initiatives
Assess and support sustainability and environmental programs and assist in identifying areas of opportunity and innovation
Manage the existing environmental programs: recycling, uniform reuse, training, and commuter incentives
Measure and report on company’s sustainability progress (sustainability report, carbon accounting, and other tracking mechanisms to support sustainability program implementation and assessment)
Oversee the company’s internship program

• Demonstrated ability to develop rapport with all levels of the organization and lead where appropriate
• Strong collaborative skills to work across multiple stakeholder groups to translate business strategies, initiatives, goals and objectives into project proposals
• Excellent quantitative/qualitative skills with the ability to present and communicate ideas in all forms
• Strong leadership skills to motivate, inspire and facilitate individuals and teams to take responsibility and accountability for the goals
• Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with demanding time constraints
• Organizational skills appropriate to managing philanthropy, including basic Excel and accounting 
 
 
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, public policy, environmental studies or related field
5 plus years of similar work experience
Experience in public speaking and writing
Experience with green building
