About The Position:
We are seeking a dynamic Manager of Client & Member Communications to join our Marketing and Communications team and help us fulfill our mission: to help individuals live their lives to the fullest potential. The Manager of Client & Member Communications Plans, develops and executes member & client communication plans and strategies that align with business goals. In managing day-to-day responsibilities, the manager supervises communications professionals and collaborates closely with Marketing & Communications department colleagues. This position can be located in our Chesapeake, VA office or our Boston, MA office.
Develops and executes member & client communication plans and strategies that align with business goals.
Researches, designs and implements appropriate programs to support the marketing communications activities
Assists in research, evaluation and implementation of emerging marketing communications mediums/methods as appropriate
Creates holistic, integrated communications across marketing touchpoints and in support of the strategic plan. Partners with other team members to leverage opportunities for brand & experience consistency
Stays abreast of communications trends, competitor activities, and changing business needs
Work closely with Marketing & Communications leadership to refine strategies and prioritize work as business needs change.
Translate complex business content to create simple impactful key messages to the target audience. Leverage visual story telling where appropriate to convey messages. Provide content in highly usable and visually appealing ways
Write and edit content deliverables for brand consistency and positioning, tone, ease of understanding/health literacy, grammatical and spelling errors, and adherence to Beacon style.
Oversee customization requests for materials, ensuring appropriate response to ad hoc requests. Review for trends and opportunities for efficiencies and self-service.
Maintain centralized repository of approved communications to ensure assets continue to provide brand-consistent, accurate, and actionable information.
Support Quality teams through annual training on Marketing & Communication policy, review of Beacon style guide, and provision of tools to guide creation and review of external-facing materials. This supports NCQA compliance activity.
Supervise two editors and coordinator.
Execution & Analysis
Project manages delivery of communications with systematic, repeatable processes to ensure timelines, procedures, and resources, as well as ensure appropriate reviews and approvals are achieved
Manage a content calendar and regularly publish
Coordinates distribution and tracking of communications to build and lists and ensure timely delivery and follow-up
Measures results of communications plans, marketing campaigns and strategies to optimize business impact. Report results and insights to leadership.
Contract with and manage vendors, external authors, and editors as needed
Share communications best practices across the team, department, and organization as appropriate.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English or journalism or related field
Relevant Work Experience: At least seven years of related work experience with demonstrable results, preferably in health care industry. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
