POSITION SUMMARY
Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi-Cola Bottler founded in Birmingham, AL, more than 100 years ago. The Corporate Communications Coordinator is a key member of the Customer Strategy, Marketing & Brand team responsible for developing and distributing communications and managing social media.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Develop and execute internal communications and public relations strategies (create newsletters, corporate announcements, updates, videos, press releases, etc.). 
Collaborate with HR and other departments to develop internal campaigns and determine best practices for distributing communications. 
Develop strategy and content for social media platforms. 
Organize and maintain social media content calendar. 
Monitor the company's social media platforms and online presence.  
Coordinate internal events including company meetings, annual holiday party, etc. 
Assist in organizing and executing external marketing events and activities. 
Provide support in organizing and managing distribution of assets and day to day activities for all events. 
Provide weekly project reports/summaries of internal communications and public relations projects. 
Responsible for responding to all correspondence incurred through the company website as well as brand pages. 
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor. 
Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method. Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school)
Experience:
1 plus years of experience in a marketing, communications or public relations position.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of a wide range of computer software programs with a broad ability and willingness to acquire new skills.

Advanced experience in/ application of Microsoft Office 365 products is required including, but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access, etc.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator,InDesign etc.). Experience working in WordPress or search engine optimization (SEO) strategy is a plus.
 
 
Certifications &
Licenses:
Driver's License with a good driving record (MVR) is required. 
 
Other Requirements: - Excellent project management and organization skills. - Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time and prioritize effectively. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with extensive knowledge of AP style. - Possesses a solid understanding of effective communications, marketing and social media strategies. - Demonstrated ability as a self-starter and detail-oriented. - Team player with leadership potential.
