Principal Purpose of Job:

  • Support and assist the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager in promoting DTR service standards, serving as a role model for Housekeeping staff as well as training staff and maintaining the integrity of the Ranch and Housekeeping operations, policies and standards across all three properties. This position will help make decisions for Housekeeping in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations in Housekeeping with regards to Room Attendants, Housepeople and Commons.
  • Assist with training for new and current staff members.
  • Ensure schedule is in line with budget and does not include overtime while adequately staffing for stayovers, departures, and events, is drafted in accordance with departmental objectives and is approved by Management.
  • Oversee the proper execution of Housekeeping duties according to DTR service standards and perform same duties when needed, including, but not limited to: 
  • Removing linens
  • Making beds
  • Dusting
  • Mopping
  • Sweeping
  • Vacuuming
  • Trash removal
  • Carpet cleaning
  • Restocking housekeeping supplies
  • Cleaning windows
  • Making guests feel welcome and “at home”
  • Being knowledgeable about other departments and key contacts for each
  • Being aware of guest and Ranch issues
  • Inspecting rooms prior to arrival, completing any cleaning needed
  • Inspecting public areas (restrooms, hallways, pool, locker rooms), completing any cleaning needed
  • Continually uphold top service and cleanliness standards at DTR, VCI and Trailhead.
  • Cross train with Commons, Room Attendants and Housepeople in order to be able to assist wherever necessary.
  • Update and maintain all departmental training materials and evaluate how current policies and standards are meeting/exceeding guest expectations. Make recommendations to management if they are not.
  • Uphold and adhere to Ranch Service Standards at all times, while ensuring the rest of the department does so.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager with payroll and any other assigned administrative tasks like completing PAN’s, etc.
  • Inspect units pre-arrival and complete random checks during stay over and turndown.
  • Creating daily housekeeping boards
  • Manage inventory of materials and equipment needed for housekeeping
  • Drafting purchase orders while staying within budgetary guidelines
  • Supervising all staff including Room attendants, Housepeople and Commons to ensure quality and efficiency

Other Duties:

  • Willing and able to work all shifts as necessary to ensure proper coverage
  • Maintain and update MSDS documents
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance as scheduled
  • Assist the Director of Lodging, General Manager, Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager with any tasks or projects as assigned.   •  Serve as a role model for employees and peers for behaviors pertaining to teamwork, service, effective communication and leadership.
  • Ensure safety standards are upheld at all times. Conduct and/or support employees attending safety training as needed. Complete first report of injury forms and submit to HR. Be familiar with and have a thorough understanding of how to execute all emergency procedures.
  • Report any incident which appears suspicious or could endanger the security of the Resort.
  • Ensure all employees are in proper uniform and/or comply with the established grooming guidelines.
  • Ensure that product quality standards are met in all areas of the department as they relate to DTR brand, appearance and cleanliness.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others

  • Benchmark best practices of competitors
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
  • Any other duties as assigned by a Director or other Manager.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least one year Housekeeping and/or supervisory experience required
  • Minimum 21 years of age.

​Special Skills/Equipment:

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends and holidays
  • Basic computer/e-mail knowledge required
  • Microsoft Office software experience strongly preferred
  • Solid proofing/editing skills to review docs/correspondence for spelling, grammar and content
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Wage:

  • $16.50 per hour

If the duties and responsibilities of the Housekeeping Supervisor are not fulfilled to Ranch standards, or you receive more than 2 guest complaints in one month you will be subject to demotion and loss of Housekeeping Supervisor hourly wage.
