Help Desk Support Services Specialist - Sr.


Education                               Bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not necessary)

Experience                             1+ years Help Desk in MS environment Plus Certifications

Citizenship Requirement      (US Citizen)

Clearance Required              Secret (Interim is acceptable)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Skilled in all aspects or typical helpdesk support for a Microsoft environment;
  • Skilled in interpersonal communications aligned to receiving helpdesk support calls and responding to verbal and written queries for IT assistance via telephone, email, walk-up and directly from management
  • Ability to install, operate, and maintain basic computer hardware and software such as Central Processing Units, memory, CD-ROMs, DVDs, monitors, and printers
  • Provide user support  in the areas of email, directory & network services, and Windows desktop applications; knowledgeable in Adobe and SharePoint 2010
  • Ability to communicate  with users and management  to ascertain procedures followed and identify source and cause of errors
  • Coordinate with hardware and software vendors to obtain fixes for unresolved problems
  • Provide basic user training on mice, keyboards, cabling, and the PC unit to assist users in properly maintaining computer equipment 



Skills Required:

  • A+ Certified or have attended the commensurate level of IT training

  • Capable of responding to helpdesk support calls from users via telephone, email, walk-up, and directly from management

  • Ability to communicatewith users and management alike to ascertain procedures followed and identify source and cause of errors

  • Capable of working under the guidance of another experienced professional in performing IT tasks

  • Capable of lifting and moving basic computers, monitors, printers, and other IT peripherals

  • Capable of tracking inventories, supplies, and writing basic office communications

  • Capable of working standard and off hours of duty as required to support and sustain OIG IT functions

  • A minimum of oneyear of experience providing administrative or IT end user helpdesk support in a networked environment such as Windows or Mac

  • Able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance


    Certifications Required


  • Comp TIA A+ and Network+ OR a comparable Microsoft IT certification such as MCP or MCSE
