Our professionals apply innovative practices to help federal government programs better align the goods and services they buy with their missions. We seek a Senior Grant Manager, located in Raleigh, North Carolina or surrounding area, to manage the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five (PDG B-5).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage a portfolio of early childhood systems building initiatives, working with subcontractors to clarify design elements, implementation plans, requirements, and progress benchmarking.
  • Provide daily project management support, including tracking key project actions, milestones, timelines, risks
  • Formulate strategies, monitor and measure progress, and make adjustments to approach/implementation as needed
  • Provide analytic capacity and project management services to support effective implementation and alignment within and across initiatives and strategic priorities
  • Motivate subcontractors and internal and external stakeholders to engage in creating shared vision and responsibilities for outcomes
  • Assess readiness among subcontractors and identify potential barriers/risks
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with program implementation
  • Produce high-quality written reports which effectively present complex information and summarize project status, progress, and risks
  • Work collaboratively with the PDG Project Manager and senior leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood, business or a related field – advanced degrees preferred
  • 5-8 years of senior program management and related experience, preferably with early childhood systems and federal grants
  • Consulting experience, particularly in early childhood systems design and implementation
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills and broad knowledge of fiscal and project management and technological best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and persuade.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills, as well as facilitation experience and skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Knowledge of early childhood systems and NC’s early childhood landscape preferred
  • Mastery of Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
