We are looking for qualified process-focused Opto-Mechanical Assembly Engineer candidates to join our talented, vision-driven production team who are focused on delivering amazing solutions to our clients. The Opto-Mechanical Assembly Engineer will work with the New Product Introduction team to introduce new assemblies to the production floor. They will be responsible for creating processes and procedures for successful implementation of new assemblies using process engineering skills, he/she will be able to design/program their own tools, create procedures for existing assemblies, and conduct supplier audits for assembly tools.

 

Desired Experience

  • 4 years engineering degree: Mechanical or Optical or related field
  • 2+ years of CAD design experience, Solidworks preferred
  • Experience with active optical alignment preferred
  • Optical metrology experience desired
  • Experience with Opto-Mechanical assembly concepts and processes
  • Process Engineering background and ability to use tools like 8D, DMAIC, supplier audits, etc. with experience in Lean/6Sigma environment)
  • Experience in designing and mounting of optical components and mechanicals
  • Programming Skills including CMM or Optical CMM inspection tools

 

Responsible for

  1. Quoting for new business opportunities
  2. Introduce new assemblies into manufacturing
  3. Create robust documentation for execution of assemblies
  4. Train technicians on execution of new assemblies
  5. Supporting existing assemblies by analyzing data and trends
  6. Set and conduct vendor audits for assembly components
  7. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues with ongoing assembly products
