Reports to:      Materials Manager


Primary Responsibility:


Supervise the Inventory Control Coordinators and oversee the operation of the stockroom and shipping and receiving areas. Ensure the team and processes are in place to support the goals and objectives of the organization.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Supervise Inventory Control Coordinators
    • Approve time cards, time-off requests
    • Conduct performance reviews
    • Ensure adequate team coverage based on workload
    • Plan and support team cross-training
    • Identify and facilitate training and development needs
  • Provide technical and logistical leadership
  • Ensure that all details of the daily stock room tasks are accomplished properly
  • Develop, communicate, train and oversee policy and practices for inventory, job orders, shipping, and receiving transactions within the ERP system
  • Troubleshoot transaction issues within the ERP system
  • Understand and oversee cycle count program and annual physical inventory audits
  • Support customer and compliance audits
  • Participate in production meetings and maintain focus on backlog and customer deadlines
  • Communicate to appropriate departments any issues that will affect quality and production on a daily basis
  • Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations
  • Work with the team to identify opportunities for continual improvement
  • Perform Omnify tasks required for stock room activity
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on company objectives, production strategies and support activities
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesiveness of product flow between the stock room, supply chain, and production
  • Maintain accurate inventories of stockroom items
  • Maintain organization and housekeeping of all inventory areas
  • Ensuring proper practices and work instructions are in place around packaging, labeling, documentation, certificate of compliances, and shipment method for both international and domestic customer shipments
  • Verify that all shipments are compliant with export controls including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for the warehouse and shipping & receiving
  • Identify and develop initiatives to create advantage in the processes, procedures and enabling technologies for the department
  • Lead by example and uphold Company values and beliefs



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5-10 years’ experience in inventory control or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years managing people
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Analyst or CPIM preferred
  • Strong team leadership and supervision track record
  • Strong understanding of ERP concepts and processes (Made2Manage software preferred)
  • Careful attention to detail and math ability required
  • Must have strong computer skills and systems understanding and strong knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Position is 50% at a desk and 50% on your feet or walking.       
  • Must have strong communication skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals throughout the organization
  • Must be a team player and willing to assist all areas of REO
  • Self-directed
