Trimble’s Railway Asset Solutions

Trimble’s rail asset lifecycle management products are an integrated suite of on premise and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions that manage the lifecycle of rail transport assets from operation through maintenance and repair. Trimble’s E2M solution is used by rail and transport operators to manage the maintenance and repair of their operating assets is the market leader in its sector and the Trimble R2M solution is used by customers throughout the UK and Europe to manage faults and alerts for in-service trains in real time. Position – Business Analyst – Trimble Railway Asset Solutions:

Responding to rapid growth and increased customer demand across Europe and worldwide Trimble are seeking a Business Analyst to work within their Trimble Railway Asset Solutions group.

Based in Ireland and with offices in U.K., the Trimble Railway Asset Solutions group combines a deep understanding of the operations of the rail and transport sectors with knowledge of how our rail asset lifecycle management solutions help them achieve operational efficiencies and resource planning objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and motivated candidate to work in a progressive and developing company with great people and to apply their knowledge and expertise in a dynamic project environment.

Job Summary:

This role will entail working with our blue chip customer base as well as our internal development team and project managers. The candidate will help support and deploy our solutions by analysing customer requirements, interfacing between the customer and development teams, and defining technical specifications from gathered requirements.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a software development business analyst.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in at least one of the following areas: financial, engineering, maintenance management, or ERP systems.
  • Hands-on problem solver with strong analytical skills to analyse customer requirements, model business activities, and identify potential solutions.
  • A team player with strong inter-personal and communication skills both in a project environment and with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate both detailed and bigger picture analysis to customers and the internal development team.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Highly organised with a proven track record in meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Experience working in a project environment leading medium to complex projects.
  • Experience in the preparation of process design workshops and documents.
  • Experience in the preparation of functional design documents and test scripts.
  • Excellent document writing skills (e.g. functional specifications).
  • Willingness to travel to mainland Europe, to meet with customers.
