Function and Scope:

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the College’s overarching social media strategy. This includes working with colleagues across the College to leverage social media platforms and capabilities to help meet marketing and communications goals as appropriate; developing innovative ways to further member value and engagement; monitoring and tracking campaign results; and working with Communication colleagues and colleagues across the College – including CardioSmart, Member Sections, Advocacy and JACC Journals – on best practice and coordinated efforts.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing the social media strategy for the College, this includes managing existing platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube) and implementing additional platforms as deemed appropriate
  • Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and posting of ACC content to ACC channels, working with colleagues in Communications and other departments/divisions as appropriate
  • Responsible for triaging new requests and working with Communication Team Leaders and other staff as appropriate to determine how to move forward
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking campaign results
  • Responsible for coordinating social media strategy and tactics across all stakeholders (i.e., divisions/departments, ACC Chapters, and/or industry/health care partners) as they pertain to major CV meetings, ACC live programs or products, awareness months, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS, preferably in communications, marketing or similar field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with digital communications and social media platforms
  • Familiarity with health care issues
