Director of Information Technology Services

CATA is hiring a full-time, Director of Information Technology Services to be responsible for the organization’s information technology (IT) strategic and tactical planning, execution, and on-going oversight for long-term success.  The Director of Information Technology Services manages CATA’s IT services to ensure optimum reliability and efficiency of all systems.  This position is an excellent opportunity for a driven IT professional ready to lead an IT department for immediate, innovative growth.


Duties and Responsibilities – include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive the IT vision and strategy to enable achievement of the organization's objectives. 
  • Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways CATA may gain competitive advantage.
  • Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization.
  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise CATA’s leadership and suggest actions.
  • Serve as the technical lead for all IT projects, identifying project scope, delivery mechanism, timelines, and key resources.
  • Keep project sponsor abreast of project deliverables and barriers to success.
  • Maintain, update, plan, and conduct periodic tests of the disaster recovery system. 
  • Evaluate various resources, including new hardware and software applications and system upgrades, to ensure that all systems are integrated to the maximum extent possible and operating at peak efficiency within available resources.
  • Responsible for coordinating employee training for 350+ employees for IT systems.
  • Responsible for all network security, including passwords, and secure storage of back-up media.
  • Provide overall supervision of the IT staff (5 employees) and provide oversight of team activities.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education or training.
  • A minimum of 7 years of supervisory and/or leadership experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of current Windows operating systems for server, networked printers, LANs, and WANs.
  • Experience with transit software programs preferred.
  • Public agency experience a plus.
  • Able to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot information technology systems, computer, printer, and network problems.
  • Able to lift and move parts, some in excess of forty (40) pounds.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
