As an ICTSenior Designer, you will be responsible for providing trade specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff. Must take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.
Creating basic designs with minimal supervision and creating medium to complex designs under the direction of senior team member. Developing specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes
Conducting field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work; assisting Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings
Participating in / Ensuring / Overseeing QA/QC process for your work and the work of others
Assisting senior team members in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets
Performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports
Assisting the senior team member in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
Mastering drawing organization format and company standards
Cross trained on multidisciplinary designs and support design production of drawings, calculations, researches, reports, analysis and specification
Representing Syska Hennessy Group and working in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants
This role requires an experienced skilled Senior Designer with in-depth design knowledge of Technology systems, Cabling systems, Security systems for Government, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical. In addition to strong design skills, you will need a high degree of interpersonal and relationship building skills to be successful in this position.
Additional requirements include:
Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) from an accredited University in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Technology
