  • Schedule: Flexible as long as within business hours, 20 hours per week

Human Resources Assistant (Intern)

Job Responsibilities

As a Human Resources intern you will mainly provide support with items relating to talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion and summer intern program for the firm.  This role will also provide a variety of administrative and project related functions to support other sectors of the Human Resources department as needed.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Register for college fairs and coordinate shipping of materials
  • Assist with posting jobs to niche sites and affinity organizations using Applicant Tracking System
  • Screen and classify entry-level resumes by referencing knock out questions for Recruiters
  • Assist with scheduling phone and onsite interviews and confirmations for candidates as needed
  • Maintain Applicant Tracking System with proper record keeping
  • Help to coordinate event/open house logistics for in-office events
  • Collect, scan, and upload all interview/employment documents such as applications and resumes to electronic drive
  • Complete new hire folders with relevant paper work required
  • Conduct research for projects, write/prepare reports and presentations, gather and analyze data
  • Attend HR monthly meetings to take minutes
  • Assist with projects, as needed, to support our intern education program and diversity and inclusion initiative

Job Requirements

This position is ideal for any student who is interested in gaining insight about the HR field within the architectural/engineering/construction sector. Prior experience in HR is not necessary, but interest in a career within HR is strongly preferred.

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program studying Human Resources or related major R
  • Prior work experience in a corporate environment, strongly preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is a must
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and collaboratively
  • Ability to work in a confidential environment
  • Ability to engage with people; professional business ethics; assertiveness; and problems solving skills
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook for calendaring and MS Word is a requirement
  • This role will require a long-term assignment as an intern
