Position Title: HSPD-12 PIV Helpdesk/Customer Support Specialist (Part-Time and Full-Time Positions)

Reports To:  Security Specialist/Lead and Customer

Clearance Type:  Secret

Work Location: Washington, DC

Start Date: O/A  April/May 2017

Job Description: Advantage SCI, LLC is seeking an experienced HSPD-12 PIV Helpdesk/Customer Support Specialist to provide support to our government customer in Washington DC upon contract award.  

Summary of duties include:

  • Provide support and assistance to customer managers and PIV cardholders in the form of customer service.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on HSPD-12 and PACS related issues

  • Manage the consumables for the PCIF including

  • Replacing consumables, maintaining a consumables inventory, and providing printer consumable guidelines information based on inventory and usage metrics

  • Maintain an inventory of PCIF/HSPD-12 equipment to include issuing and receiving

  • Assist cardholders with re-setting a personal identity verification number (PIN) as required.

  • Assist cardholders with trouble shooting techniques to resolve Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) and Logical Access Control System (LACS) issues

  • Manage the HSPD-12 Lost/Stolen/Compromised PIV card process to include providing instructions to cardholders, tracking and monitoring submitted Reports of Surveys (ROS)

  • Manage the centrally printed PIV card process to included tracking, documenting and shipping of PIV cards within the United States and Internationally to authorized locations

  • Provide fingerprint services (hard copy and electronic) to support federal background investigation requirements and transmit for processing


  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years experience

  • Must have in-depth knowledge and experience with an HSPD-12 compliant Physical Access Control System and Logical Access Control Systems

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of and skills in Windows-based and web-based desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office Professional, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft SharePoint.

  • Required expertise with collection of biometrics (fingerprints), and smart cards.

  • Must have a valid certification of completion in PII and Cyber Awareness Challenge from Information Assurance Support Environment (Only valid within 30 days of hire). To obtain the certification, visit http://iase.disa.mil/eta/

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have working knowledge of software/desktop applications (PC operating systems, office automation suites, office productivity software, groupware, email clients, digital collaboration tools, etc

  • Must have excellent customer service skills

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills

Strongly Desired

Background working in government and/or Department of Homeland Security

Working Conditions:

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distances occasionally

  • Noise level - quiet to moderate
