Position Overview

We’re looking for Director of Quality Assurance with proven success leading a team to build out test automation suites in support of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery workflows while also supporting manual testing tools and technologies where they are needed.  You have expertise in test automation include planning, development, measurement, and maintenance. You have hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks and developing automation scripts and can identify automation priorities and work to create an automation roadmap. The Director of Quality of Assurance has had experience with leading a team of quality assurance analysts to success.

As part of the Bridgevine technology leadership team, the Director of Quality Assurance will lead, mentor and participate in cross-functional, distributed Agile teams and will advocate for and ensure quality for those teams. You will participate in development design sessions and provide feedback from a quality perspective. You will coordinate best quality practices across other teams including offshore. You will lead and define transitions to embed quality practices within our platforms. And most importantly, you will be driving the design and development of automated testing for all layers of our solutions (front and back end) to reduce regression and enable rapid delivery.




The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop QA strategies together with other technical teams
  • Ensure appropriate QA tooling landscape
  • Define and manage the implementation of test environments 
  • Managing implementation of automated checks
  • Advocate for QA’s early involvement in development projects and help make early involvement successful
  • Work to refine and evangelize Bridgevine’s QA practices and processes
  • Manage direct reports, helping them juggle multiple projects and manage their time on short- and long-term projects
  • Ensure high quality in developed applications through documentation (test cases)
  • Direct the software release process with the goal of delivering software releases on time, on budget, with high quality and according to agreed-upon scope
  • Utilize quality metrics to identify and lead -prevention-focused- implementation projects to drive business-wide quality improvements.
  • Demonstrate operational excellence, by way of managing continuous improvement programs and implementing standard tools and best practices
  • Balance product stability with the need to release features quickly



  • 8+ years of relevant experience working in a testing environment with full-time testing and/or testing adjacent responsibilities
  • 3-4+ years of prior management or team lead experience
  • Coding experience in C#, Node.js, or Python
  • Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
  • Deep knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases and debugging
  • Experience working within an Agile-based environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with technical and non-technical teams as well as upward and broadly
  • Proficiency in JIRA or similar project management systems
  • Familiarity with browser-based development tools and GitHub
  • Ability to independently lead and set organizational direction
  • Experience building strong, collaborative cross-functional partnerships
  • Strong strategic thinking ability and business judgment
  • Comfort with fast-paced start-up environment
