|Pay Minimum:||$23.043 Hourly|
|Work Hours:||8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.|
Duties: Select, train, motivate and evaluate professional, technical and clerical accounting staff, manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned area; establish appropriate service and staffing levels, allocate resources accordingly, direct the forecast of funds implement budgetary adjustments as necessary, advise departments and division on accounting problem, policies, and procedures; assist in the maintenance of proper controls; provide training to the city departments, supervise/participate in the preparation of difficult and complex financial reports, analyze financial reports; analyze financial reports and statements to determine trends or irregularities; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification: Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible governmental accounting experience., including four (4) years of administrative or supervisory responsibility. Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in finance, accounting business administration, or a related field. Advanced knowledge of principal'sand practices of municipal budget preparation and administration, complex financial record keeping and reporting; ability to prepare and administer a budget; prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:
Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residency within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
