Description

Duties: Provide clerical support to assist designated department staff in the completion of their duties and responsibilities. Enter & verify data into a computer system; prepare and review computer printout reports and information; type a variety of correspondence and documents. Communicate clearly and concisely. Operate a variety of office equipment including typewriters, computers, facsimile machines, photocopiers, and adding machines. Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail. 

 

Qualifications: One-year clerical experience. Completion of the twelfth grade. Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. 

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:

Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residency within the City of Jackson.

PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
