Detention Shift Supervisor

|Work Hours:||SHIFT WORK|
Duties: Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review work of staff on an assigned shift at the Detention Center or Holding Facility; assist in preparing work schedules and making shift assignments; complete and maintain a variety of employee records and files. Supervise and participate in the processing of arrested and released persons at the Detention Center or Holding Facility; completer appropriate forms and paperwork; issue clothing and supplies to detainees as appropriate; release property as appropriate.
Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years of age. Three years of increasingly responsible experience in law enforcement and correctional facilities, including one year of lead responsibility. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in corrections, detention and law enforcement or a related field is desirable. Possession of a valid driver's license. +
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:
Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
