Sewer Systems Supervisor
|Pay Minimum:||$ 14.555 Hour|
|Work Hours:||8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.|
Duties: Plan, prioritize, assign, and review the work of staff responsible for providing sewer systems services for the city including, backhoes, bulldozers, air compressors, tractors, blow trucks and other related equipment. Select, train, motivate and evaluate personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline, and termination procedures, inspect sewer lines for repair and maintenance needs; assign work to crews; respond to emergency calls during evening, and weekend; project equipment and material needs; ensure that each has appropriate equipment and material. Respond to and resolve public inquiries and complaints. Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes, and regulation; Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Four years of increasingly responsible maintaining and repairing sewer and storm sewer systems including one year of lead responsibility. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade or higher education, supplemented by training in the maintenance trade . Possession of Class A commercial license with tanker's endorsement.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:
Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residency within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
