Description

Duties: Receive calls from the public requesting law enforcement service regarding residential burglary, larceny or destruction of personal or public property. Determine the nature of calls and distinguish between calls that require police presence and calls that can be handled completely through a telephone conversation. Request information regarding the details of the crime from caller; prepare required offense report. Maintain a variety of logs, records, and files related to telephone and public safety activities.

 

Qualifications: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Some experience in dealing with and communicating with the public is desirable.

 

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:

Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residency within the City of Jackson.

PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
