Customer Service Representative

|Work Hours:||8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.|
DUTIES: May perform duties in any work sections within the division of Water/Sewer Business Administration. Collect and process payments received by cashiers, assist in sorting and balancing receipts and payments, assist customers with utility bill questions and problems, research account history, issue service orders to maintenance crews, receive and process requests for account changes or service disconnections, prepare and post account adjustments. Process customer water service application in person or on the telephone. Considerable use of computer terminal in performing the above duties and performing related duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent to one (1) year of general customer service experience. Desires knowledge of verbal communication skills, modern office procedures, and use of computer terminal equipment. Electronic ten (10) key calculator experiences preferred. Preferably six (6) months to one (1) year in water utility experience. One (1) year of Customer Service desired.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES: Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
