Description

Duties: Assign, oversee, review and participate in work of a crew responsible for providing street right of way maintenance, repair, and cleaning services including the areas of streets. Operate or drive a variety of specialized equipment utilized in assigned projects including backhoes, loaders, bulldozers, tractors, lawnmowers, power and hand tools, and related  equipment. Complete and maintain records of time, material and equipment usage. Lead and review the work of an assigned crew. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Three years of maintenance experience. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by training in the maintenance and construction trade. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.

 

 

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:

Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.

PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
