Description

Duties: Counsel enrolled children and their families, maintain detailed case files and records.  Compile information and data to determine eligibility participate with area social service agencies, engage in local services, plan and implement activities for parents and children.

 

Qualifications: One year child related social work experience is desirable. Equivalent to a Masters degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work or a related field.  Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate social worker’s license from the State of Mississippi Department of Health.

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES: Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.

 

PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
